MadFun are proud to be able to offer you tables from the
following manufacturers:
 |
BCE / Riley |
Riley
- Having started life in Manchester in the 1890s as a sports shop,
Riley quickly became the largest manufacturer of cricket bats in the
world before expanding what had started as a sideline:
billiard
tables. By 1910, the company was making around 800
full-sized
tables each year. In little more than a decade, Riley
owned nearly 40 billiard halls and its tables had made their first
appearance at the World professional championship. A catalogue of
the 1930s demonstrates the company's commitment to players
throughout the world. From tiny clubs and customers playing on a
small dining table, through to stately homes and the demands of the
small band of professionals, Riley offered an impressive selection
of
snooker and
billiard tables,
cues,
balls,
lighting ... in fact everything for the player looking for excellent
quality at an affordable price. Decades of mergers and acquisitions
had already passed when snooker began its rise in popularity in the
late 1970s, thanks to the introduction of colour television. As
Riley passed through the first decade of its second century, a new
opportunity appeared. The formation of the BCE-Riley Group has set
the stage for an exciting re-launch of the much-loved company.
BCE
- In 1976 a small
Company called BCE was founded. This Company started life as a
distributor to the coin operator sector, supplying cues, balls and
table spares. By 1980 BCE had diversified into the manufacture of
snooker tables. Within a short period the BCE Westbury snooker
table was the table being used at all World professional snooker
tournaments. From 1982-1992 the Westbury was the benchmark table in
snooker and BCE had become the biggest name in snooker. The BCE name
was built on quality and to this day quality is the most important
factor coupled with value for money. The company stands behind all
its products, and offer one year warranties on all two and three
piece cues and table sport products. BCE's philosophy is, 'let the
professionals guide you, that's what they are there to do', so BCE
take full advantage of their extensive knowledge of the game before
any product is introduced to the BCE range.
Many of the sport’s leading professionals were happy to endorse BCE
cues.

Jimmy White |
BCE also sponsor the two best known players in snooker, Jimmy 'the
Whirlwind' White and Ronnie 'the Rocket' O'Sullivan currently ranked
No.1
Ronnie
0'Sullivan’s
reputation continues to flourish and he is now one of the
biggest draws in the game of snooker. Since the age of 10 when
Ronnie
knocked in his first century break, his genius has become
increasingly apparent for everyone around him to see. He turned
professional at the tender age of 16 and made history when at 17
he became the youngest player ever to win a world-ranking event,
capturing the 1993 UK Championship by defeating Stephen Hendry
10-6 in the final. Ronnie soon became known as a great
entertainer at the snooker table. He made his first maximum
break in competition at the age of 15 in the English
Amateur
Championships. He has compiled four maximum breaks as a pro,
including the fastest on record of just 5 minutes 20 seconds in
the 1997 World Championships, and so earning himself £165,000.
Ronnie enjoys playing left handed in competitions whenever the
urge takes him and much to the annoyance of his opponents. He
has even made century breaks playing with his opposite hand!
Ronnie 0'Sullivan is today one of the world's most exciting
players to watch at the snooker table and his exhibitions -
guaranteed to pack the house out - are second to none.
Jimmy
White,
"The People's Champion", is still the biggest box office draw in
snooker. From his early days playing snooker in and around South
London, to his rise to fame in the early eighties, Jimmy White has
certainly played his part in making snooker popular throughout the
world. Not since Alex Higgins had people witnessed such genius on a
snooker table. Crowds could only watch in disbelief at the shots he
could make. In one exhibition match he made two consecutive 147
breaks! During Jimmy White's career he has won nine ranking events
and numerous other titles. He remains in the top 16 for yet another
season and, in reaching a ranking event final and semi-final last
season, he has proved he is still a force to be reckoned with.
BCE also do football tables and pool tables and also do a range of
multi games tables so when it comes to games tables BCE have it
covered. |
