This Shire Wigwam Playhouse is so unique and will be as fun to paint as to play in. The Wigwam Playhouse is a unique design, offering as much fun to decorate as it is to play in. An ideal gift at any time of the year, the Wigam will make an amazing and exciting feature in your garden, it is sure to be a conversation piece! This product is tested to EN 71 the European safety standard and carries the CE mark. The door has a full length safety hinge and the fixed windows are glazed with perspex. It is manufactured from high grade, slow grown, FSC approved, northern European pine shiplap boards on 34 mm square framing. It is supplied dip treated with honey basecoat preservative ready for you to paint or stain on installation. Assembly instructions are provided.
Preservative/Painting
All playhouses in the Shire garden building range are supplied pre-treated inside and out with a quality, water-based, non-toxic, anti-fungicidal base coat. This ensures that your garden building is protected in transit and is ready to accept any preservative colour of your choice. The building shown has been painted for photographic purposes only. You may decide to have your playhouse treated at the factory with a protective topcoat to ensure an even application. Simply select this in the drop down.
DIY Assembly
Our playhouses are supplied in a flat-pack modular design allowing for easy transportation through your house or garage. If you have any concerns about building your playhouse we are happy to offer a build service for all our Shire playhouses. General Information
All information given has been supplied by the manufacturer, and is as accurate as possible. We recommend that you install the building on a solid, free-draining base (please see pdf above for a Guide to Preparing a Base), with at least 60cm free space all around for maintenance. You should treat all sections with a high quality, spirit-based preservative prior to assembly, and subsequently every year in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. Please ensure that regular general maintenance is carried out on all moving parts, and that the roofing felt is regularly inspected, and replaced if required.

All the Shire wooden playhouses come with Perspex windows, safety hinges, roofing felt and an industry standard preservative base coat. There are British and European standards that apply to playhouses. Since July 2011, all toys sold in the European Union must comply with the European Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC, enacted in the UK as the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011. The British Standard BS EN 71, which comes in many parts, explains how manufacturers should meet the requirements of the Directive, stating how toys should be manufactured and tested and the safety warnings they must carry.
Shire playhouses have been tested to the relevant standard since the 1980’s.
