    Trampoline Types at MadFun

    With so many different trampolines to choose from, how do you know which trampoline is right for you? We have written this guide to help you choose between the huge variety of trampolines we have on offer.     Above Ground or InGround?

    The first thing to consider when choosing your trampoline is whether you want a traditional above ground trampoline or whether you would prefer a more discreet inground model.

    The above ground models all come complete with enclosure nets and we have a variety of other accessories available, each trampoline listing has details of the extras you can choose.

    The inground models come in 2 different styles, these have different names depending on which brand you choose but they can either be flush to the ground (such as the Baseground by Salta or the Flat Ground from BERG) or can sit a few inches above the ground (such as the InGround by Salta or the InGround from BERG). Both of these styles require a hole to be dug into the ground for the trampoline to be built into, details of the hole dimensions can be found on the individual product listings for your reference.

    Which Shape?

    Round

    The original shape for garden trampolines and still very popular. Round trampolines are designed with one central bounce zone meaning the user is bounced back to the middle of the trampoline. This improves safety as it keeps the user away from the enclosure poles and net, however, although it is never recommended to allow more than one user at a time on a trampoline, it is important to note that there is a higher risk of collision with more than one user on a round trampoline due to the central bounce zone.

    Oval

    A newer addition to the trampoline family, oval trampolines have the advantage of having more than 1 bounce area which reduces the risk of collision and means that users can bounce independently.

    Rectangular

    Becoming more popular, rectangular trampolines have been designed to emulate competition trampolines. These have a relatively even bounce across the mat however they do give a higher bounce in the middle of the trampoline which means they are suited to users who want to do tricks and flips.

    Octagonal

    Octagonal trampolines are a hybrid of the rectangular and round trampolines. They fit into the same sort area as a round trampoline, but they are closer to a rectangular bounce.
